I was born and raised in the south of the Netherlands, not far from the Belgian border, as a genuine Brabant native. I studied human geography in Nijmegen and worked for some time as a teacher and project manager. After that I lived and worked in Latin America (Peru, Costa Rica and Bolivia) for 6 years. Love brought me to Austria, where I have now lived for more than 25 years in a small town close to Vienna. Alongside my normal work in the field of research, I decided to become a registered tour guide due to my interest in the history and art of beautiful Vienna and the surrounding area, but also because I like to connect with people like you. In the meantime, guiding has become my main job and I can honestly say that I still feel very excited by it.
Through my training as a guide and my experiences, my eyes and ears are always open to the beauty of the city and its surroundings. Vienna is not only a city with a lot of culture, it is also a very clean and safe city with an abundance of nature (Vienna is the only capital worldwide with its own wines!) and extensive culture and leisure facilities (classical music, ballet, dance, pop and rock, over 200 museums and much more). In addition, Vienna is a particularly pleasant city both to live and to work in. I constantly learn, read, and see new things in and about Vienna, which is why I am continually able to adapt my tours. I offer flexible tours that are tailored to your wishes and ideas.
Visit with me the old imperial Vienna with its Imperial Palace called the “Hofburg”, St. Stephen’s Cathedral, and not forgetting Schönbrunn Palace – the summer residence of the Habsburgs. Stroll through the narrow streets and courtyards of downtown Vienna, which are full of legends and stories. Visit with me the attractions around Vienna or let yourself be enchanted by the delicious wines of the Wachau or Burgenland.
Take the atmosphere and warmth of Vienna and the rest of Austria with you when you leave. Learn about the history and the buildings, but also find out about the city’s special qualities. The most important thing for you, and therefore also for me, is that you enjoy your time and have fun, and I feel certain that I can contribute to that.
I look forward to meeting you!
