The hidden streets of Vienna

Experience a unique walk through the hidden alleyways of Vienna! Only a stone’s throw from impressive St. Stephen’s Cathedral, I take you through the narrow streets and beautiful courtyards with their typical Pawlatschenhäusern (houses whose entrances are accessed through courtyards and along open passageways). You will hear the stories behind the houses, which are among the oldest in Vienna. Many of the houses have received nicknames because of their unique and formative stories. But also legends and tales have often been the reason for their particular and strange names.

Last but not least… on this tour you will forget that you are in a busy tourist city – it is that quiet. Almost as if you have Vienna just to yourself.

City Centre Highlights

On this walk I show you the most important and beautiful buildings, squares and streets of Vienna. Who hasn’t ever heard of the Vienna State Opera or St. Stephen’s Cathedral? And of the Imperial Palace of the Habsburg family where celebrities like Maria Theresa, Francis Joseph and his famous wife Elisabeth (mostly called Sissi) lived? Where did she marry and where did she live? Where did she hear the Vienna Boys Choir sing? Where can you see the famous Lipizzaner horses performing?

This walk takes you past all these magnificent buildings, and I provide you with information on their history and related interesting stories. The marvelous sites highlight the true beauty of this city. Likewise, I take you to the famous shopping streets, which include the legendary pastry shops (Sacher cake!!) and designer shops.
